Transport Malta headhunting private drivers on Arriva’s behalf

Transport Malta is contacting private drivers with bus licences and encouraging them to sign up to work with Arriva.

A Transport Malta spokesperson has confirmed that the new public transport operator Arriva Malta Ltd has requested that Transport Malta send a circular to all drivers who are licensed as driver buses. The request was financed by Arriva Malta, according to a spokerson for the transport authority.

The authority has insisted it did not breach privacy laws by passing on drivers' details to the private company. “Transport Malta did not pass any personal information belonging to drivers to Arriva Malta Ltd, aside from information that concerns those employees that Arriva Malta was obliged to employ from Transport Malta for 10 years, covered by the contract between the two entities.”

According to TM, Arriva Malta provided envelopes and letters, while Transport Malta handled the addresses and the postage to ensure that the personal information remains within Transport Malta’s hands.

Haha - What worries me about your argument is that you are confusing the lettuce with gas! . As with any other crisis on the Island, all the experts and professors of faeces are the first to offer a solution. Haha! Ha!

Bad Lettuce you have a bad lettuce because you know that GONEZI is going to be given the order of the boot at the next election. To continue on the funny side with literal translations, how about the Arriva service of the afraid? Or as they say tell Arriva to go and water the Marsa lettuce?

A bit tongue in cheek. Where is the Data protection commisisioner in this . Unsolicited use of drivers particulars? Let us not forget that the drivers are being poached to fill in to the detriment of other Companies.

To ensure flexibility Arriva should also start offering single shift 4 hour contracts. I am sure that many housewives would consider such a part-time arrangement especially if Arriva is flexible with driver rosters to adjust for household and family requirements. Abroad the number of female drivers is much higher than the 30 odd who applied locally as drivers Also there must be other heavy vehicle drivers who would be interested in an evening driving shift as a part-time job. This is what happens in the hotel industry where full-time employees are supplemented by such reduced hours employees.

Haha - Go and wash your potato if you have nothing better to do!

This is simply undermining the Maltese drivers who are fighting for their rights. The drivers would be STRIKE-BREAKERS They know that strike breakers are called SCABS They know how SCABS are treated everywhere. Do not expect to be treated differently in Malta
