A red level weather warning will remain in force until 6am on Friday, with authorities urging the public to exercise caution as strong winds and rough seas are expected.
In a statement, the Home Affairs Ministry said the Civil Protection Department issued the alert as weather conditions may reach Force 8 to 10 at times. The department warned that outdoor items should not be secured or adjusted while the warning is in force, describing such actions as unsafe.
The public is being advised to remain alert to changing weather conditions, follow official instructions and contact emergency services on 112 if required. Civil Protection said it is prepared to provide assistance and is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with other emergency services.
Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri reiterated his appeal for the public to observe precautionary measures, while reassuring families that the disciplined forces are ready to assist if needed. He also thanked emergency personnel for their ongoing work.
