Auxiliary Bishop Mgr Annetto Depasquale passes away
Auxiliary Bishop Mgr Annetto Depasquale died today at the age of 73.
Mgr Annetto Depasquale had previously suffered from ill health in 2003 and never fully recovered even though he returned to duty.
He died at 15:45 today at the age of 73.
Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi expressed sorrow for the death of Depasquale and sent his condolences to the Archbishop Monsignor Pawlu Cremona and the deceased’s relatives.
Gonzi described the Auxiliary Bishop as someone who always took the opportunity to be close to people and to offer his help in any situation.
Opposition Leader Joseph Muscat also expressed sorrow on behalf of the Labour Party and recognised the work done by Depasquale within the Maltese Catholic Church which was always intended for the common affluence of the Maltese and Gozitan community.
