Seven-year-old boy hospitalised after choking at Ġnejna

A seven-year-old boy was taken to hospital after choking at Ġnejna Bay in Mġarr.

A representative of the Malta Red Cross told MaltaToday that one of its lifeguards spotted the boy choking and immediately rushed to assist him.

The lifeguard managed to clear the boy’s airway before an ambulance arrived, which then took him to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment.

“We are very happy to hear that the boy is completely okay,” the representative said, adding that he will remain in hospital for monitoring.
