Updated: Head-on collision at Mosta, passengers confirmed with slight injuries

Four persons have escaped life-threatening injuries after they were involved in a head-on collision between two vehicles at Maltese Missionaries’ Road in Mosta.

The head-on collision took place at around 2.45 pm between a white Kia Ceres van driven by a 44-year-old Pembroke resident and a beige Peugeot 405 driven by a 49-year-old Attard man.

The Kia Ceres had an unidentified man as a passenger, while the Peugeot had a young 18-year-old woman, also from Attard, as a passenger.

The impact of the head-on collision was so strong that Civil Protection Department (CPD) officials had to be called on site to extract the victims from the cars and take them to Mater Dei Hospital with an ambulance.

Initial medical reports from Mater Dei Hospital indicated that none of the victims was in a life-threatening condition. Later in the evening, the Police had confirmed that all four passengers had suffered slight injuries.

The road had to be closed to traffic due to the police investigations about the case.
