Marsa resident arrested by police after shoving local warden to the ground.

A 38-year-old Syrian national, residing in Marsa, will have to face criminal charges after shoving a local warden to the ground when he was fined for not using his car indicator signals.

The incident happened at 8:25am in Qormi Road, Qormi, under the Marsa flyover.

Bystanders told MaltaToday that the man looked very upset when he was stopped by the warden and drove away without waiting for the ticket to be handed to him.

A few minutes later he went back and when the warden, a 31-year-old from Zabbar, handed the driver two tickets instead of one, the second one for not obeying his orders, the man got out of his car and pushed the warden to the ground.

Police from the Rapid Intervention Unit who were in the vicinity stopped to assist the warden and apprended the assailant, handing him over to district officers at the Qormi Police Station. The warden did not suffer any injuries.
