2,263 children with special needs in primary schools
1,077 disabled children are currently registered in secondary schools.

2,263 children in primary schools across the islands are classified as having special needs, Education Minister Evarist Bartolo revealed in response to a parliamentary question by Opposition MP George Pullicino. Of these, 1548 of them attend state schools, 589 attend church schools and 126 attend private schools.
In response to a separate question, Bartolo revealed that 1,077 disabled children are currently registered at state schools, 589 at church schools, and 84 at private schools.
