AFM rescues fisherman injured at sea

An AFM helicopter was dispatched early this morning to rescue a fisherman who had been injured while out at sea

The Armed Forces of Malta undertook a rescue operation early this morning after receiving calls to assist an Egyptian fisherman who sustained injuries out at sea.

The Rescue Coordination Centre dispatched an AW 139 helicopter which evacuated the man and transferred him to the AFM’s Airwing.

A medical team from the Emergency Department within Mater Dei hospital then took over to provide first aid. The man was eventually conveyed to hospital for further medical care.
