Kwalità Malta to promote better all local products

Labour Party’s Business Forum launched Kwalità Malta, tasked with enhancing local and international exposure to locally-produced products.

Marlene Mizzi, Chairperson of the Labour Party’s Business Forum, said the project represents the PL’s commitment to stimulate economic growth as well as secure and increase employment. This project intends to involve micro and corporate businesses, SMEs and even NGOs.

Mizzi was asked how, considering the highly bi-partisan situation in our country, will businesses be affected if they become associated with one party.

“As chairperson of the Business Forum, and I being a business woman myself, I can tell you that as long as you do not merge business with partisan politics, you should not have a problem. Most Maltese people are more intelligent than that,” she said.

She added also that “there are some petty-minded people who feel they shouldn’t buy a product from a shop just because the owner sides the other political party, however this is only a minority.”

Asked if the PN supports such initiative, Mizzi replied that the party did not seek PN support. “However this is a positive initiative done for all business people, not only Labour business people.”

Phelim Cavlan, spokesperson of the project, spoke about how the local product will be promoted. Apart from the printed media and a TV programme on ONE, the project will consist of a huge event that will take place at the MFCC Ta’ Qali between 18th and 20th  November. During this event, which will take the form of a national expo, local producers and businesses will have the opportunity to promote and exhibit their products.

Those interested in participating can either call on 21249913 or send an email on [email protected] and set up an appointment so that a ‘Kwalità Malta’ representative can explain in further detail the benefits of this project.
