[WATCH] Muscat: 'Opposition leader's discourse is extremely dangerous'

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat called Adrian Delia's budget speech "Halloween discourse" and said a xenophobic reaction from the Opposition Leader was unprecedented

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat called Delia's Budget speech a "Halloween discourse", a speech intended to scare and very dangerous in nature. Muscat said that it was frightening due to the xenophobic comments from Delia and the statements bordering on far-right politics.

Delia once again reiterated that this was an economy that depended on cheap labour and a population increase; 11,000 new workers had come from outside the European Union.

Joseph Muscat said that the opposition has no idea how the economy works. "The leader of the Opposition has enormous problems," he said, "one of which is to reconcile a discourse that absolutely does not make sense."

Muscat claimed that the discourse propagated by the leader of the opposition was "extremely dangerous" and "unprecedented" and that similar statements had never been heard before in the highest institutions of the country.
