No one enjoys Christmas as much as the children so why not get them involved in preparing some delightful treats. Pippa Mattei makes an enchanting gingerbread house and some great cookies that can be used to hang as Christmas decorations on your tree if you can resist eating them! Kay Cassar has some fun in the kitchen with the kids, showing them how to make cinnamon rolls, delicious chocolate fudge and some easy Christmas shaped cookies. You can be sure the kids will have as much fun making these tasty treats as they will eating them. They also make fantastic gifts that every grandma is sure is love.

Christmas is a time for celebration and celebration always involves food. Vegetarians and people with food allergies need not be excluded from this wonderful time. Nadine Koehle whips up a three course vegetarian meal with a festive twist - chestnut soup with raspberry puree, tofu and lentil curry and a yummy hot and cold frozen cinnamon parfait with hot, spiced plums. Check out her food blog at www.nadisunshine.com.

Christmas lunch is all about the turkey, however for the many not enthrawlled by the big bird, our Homecooks prepare a festive alternative with the turkey's miniature cousin, the quail stuffed with indulgent foie gras along with some tasty starters that will make the traditional timpana seem boring and tired.

Janet Grech sticks to a healthier meal this Christmas without losing any of the flavours. Spelt flour in her goat cheese tart adds a wonderful nutty flavour and soya butter keeps you away from the dairy products. Try her take on Christmas turkey this year with a Mediterranean twist - a roulade of turkey breast stuffed with local prawns and garnished with pink peppercorns.
