Cleaning and gutting a pumpkin

You will need

  • 1 large pumpkin
  • A serrated knife
  • Tablespoon

Method

  1. Draw a hexagonal shape over the top of your pumpkin. This will become your lid.
  2. Carefully insert the knife all the way into the pumpkin until you get the hollow centre.
  3. Carefully cut along the lines you have already drawn and pry the lid off the pumpkin.
  4. Using a tablespoon, remove the seeds from the sides of the pumpkin shell and scoop out.
  5. Use the empty pumpkin shell as a server for soup or to carve out a Jack ‘o’ Lantern.
