TECH Global University becomes the official online university of the NBA

The National Basketball Association (NBA) and TECH Global University have announced a multi-year agreement that makes the educational institution the official online university of the world’s largest basketball league. As part of this groundbreaking partnership, both entities will offer a wide range of educational resources and university programs focused on the business of basketball and other related areas.

Each program will feature a uniquely designed curriculum and will include content from guest speakers, such as NBA players (both retired and active) and league executives, who will share their experiences and insights on the most relevant topics in the sports industry.

Arnon de Mello, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the NBA in Latin America, stated that they are "excited to partner with TECH Global University to support the comprehensive development of students and professionals across the region." He also emphasised that "we look forward to working with TECH to create informative and insightful programs that highlight different aspects of the sports business and provide a better understanding of the NBA and the sports industry in general."

Manuel Sánchez-Cascado de Fuentes, CEO and founder of the TECH educational group, noted that "it is an honour for us to be the official online university of a global basketball league like the NBA and to offer this unique academic experience." He further emphasized that "through these programs, students and professionals will have the opportunity to specialize in the sports industry and learn from professionals who have achieved success in their fields, with the NBA exemplifying passion and teamwork."

The university programs offered through the TECH Global University and NBA partnership span faculties such as Sports Sciences, Medicine, and Physiotherapy. All of them feature a teaching staff with extensive experience in the sports field. One of the most prominent instructors is Isaiah Covington, performance coach for the Boston Celtics, who serves as a guest director for the Master’s in Sports Injury Rehabilitation and Readaptation. His work in such a demanding league has specialized him in maximizing both the physical and mental potential of players.

TECH Global University has also expanded its educational catalogue with a specialised program in this sport. The Master's Degree in Professional Basketball is a unique academic option in the university landscape, aiming to prepare future coaches, scouts, and trainers for the most rigorous and demanding leagues.
