Ecclestone won't bail out Sauber

The F1 supremo has stepped in to help embattled teams before, but won't be doing the same with the Swiss outfit.

"We have agreements that require us to treat all the teams equally," said Ecclestone, implying that it would not be fair to step in on Sauber's behalf.

The 82-year-old also suggested that the Hinwil-based team could look to sell up in order to survive.

"They're a good team and I'm sure there is more than one possible buyer," said Ecclestone.

"I don't want to imagine F1 without Sauber. Ideally, they will find new sponsors in the long term, but even companies who are willing to support them in the short term would be fine.

"The team deserves to be helped.

"I don't know exactly what their financial situation is, but I know it's not as good as it should be."

Ecclestone also suggested that Sauber were not the only team in financial trouble.

"There are others that are spending more money than they have," he added.
