Political satire, costumes from Notting Hill to dominate Gozo Carnival
Gozo Ministry launches Carnival programme for Gozo: political satire, costumes from Notting Hill and spectacle in Rabat to dominate scene.
Gozo Minister Anton Refalo has launched the Carnival programme for Gozo which will see political satire and costumes from Notting Hill dominating the programme.
Addressing the launch of the 'Gozo Regional Carnival', the minister said "creativity and hard work" were the backbone of new initiatives to generate economy in the sister island.
Traditionally attracting the younger generations to Gozo's spontaneous carnival, the ministry said it wanted to offer a series of activities ideal for all the families.
In Rabat, a set of grotesque masks promoting political satire and costumes from Notting Hill will be up for display. A Gozo-themed parade will kick off the programme.
