The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014 will be held in Malta and PBS CEO Anton Attard has been appointed as the executive producer of the show.

Attard was chosen by the European Broadcasting Unit after it approved the PBS’s vision for this year’s competition.

The news was announced in a joint press conference by the EBU and PBS in Copenhagen.

Speaking to members of the press gathered in Copenhagen for the adults’ Eurovision Song Contest, executive supervisor Vladislav Yakovlev announced that Attard will be the Executive Producer of the 2014 Edition.

The PBS’s vision for this year’s competition in Malta is set to include Maltese schoolchildren.

The Junior Eurosong’s slogan will be ‘#together’. The logo is designed on the elements of the Maltese eight pointed cross and its different segments are connected together in such a way that specific shapes are created.

“The dynamics of the connections make the logo clever, changeable and challenging,” Attard said.

The colour palette is bold and dynamic and takes its inspiration from the richness and diversity of the Maltese landscape: Sand, Sea, Stone, Grass, Sky, Dusk and Sunset.

“The harmonious blend of colours provides flexibility and vibrancy to all communication materials,” he added.

Malta will be hosting the competition after 11-year-old Gaia Cauchi, who sang 'The Start', won last year's edition.
