Ruuki Group's Board of  Directors has taken the  decision to  centralise the company's  headquarters and  other  group  support functions  to  Malta.

By centralising functions to Malta, the  company announced that it had shut down all remaining operative units in Finland, and consolidating its presence in Malta where it has  already  centralised its sales and marketing operations. Ruuki has been in Malta since 2008.

Employing 9,000 workers worldwide, Ruuki Group specialises in steel and steel construction, and has an extensive distribution and dealer network across some 30 countries including the Nordic countries, Russia, Europe and the emerging markets, such as India, China and South America.

In a statement issued today, Ruuki Group announced the appointment of Dr Danko Koncar  as the new Chief Executive Officer for the Company. He previously served as Executive Enterprise Director for the Company.

Koncar will take over operations from Thomas  Hoyer and  Markus Kivimäki,  current General Manager, and Kalle Lehtonen, Finance manager who  will leave their positions.

All the resigning executives will remain with  the Company  until  end   of  March   2013  to   ensure  a   smooth  handover   of responsibilities.

The new incoming ceo Danko Koncar said: "as  the 2012 results  published today show,  the  company is continuously improving its performance despite the very challenging market environment. Last year was Ruukki's most profitable year to date in the mining and minerals business. Our aim  is to secure positive development  even  if the market environment continues to be tough."

That is good news. Though I cannot understand how a single person will take over the functions of 3 full time senior executives.
