Youth jailed for throwing stones at police car

19-year-old man sentenced to nine months imprisonment after throwing stones at a police car outside Msida police station

19-year-old Frank Scembri has been sentenced to nine months imprisonment after admitting to throwing stones at a parked police car outside the Msida police station.

Magistrate Anthony Vella  Anthony Vella heard how at around half past two in the afternoon an anonymous phonecall reported seeing a hooded man throwing stones at a parked police vehicle, breaking its window. The police state that the damages amounted to EUR 220.

A nearby Peugeot was also damaged.

The court taking into account the fact that the accused was also a recidivist, sentenced him to five months imprisonment for damaging the cars and an additional four months for reoffending.
