Police confiscate stuffed birds from Siggiewi residence

The Police found some 40 stuffed birds at a residence in Siggiewi in an operation that has been going on for the past two weeks.

Sources said the stuffed birds, including species that were hunted abroad, were found at a private residence. Steps will be taken against the owner, a 45-year-old man from Siggiewi, who also failed to declare holding protected bird specimens.

In a second unrelated operation, police officers received reports of an illegal trapping site in Xrobb l-Ghagin, limits of Marsaxlokk. Investigations carried out by the police confirmed the reports and action will be taken.
