Snatch and grab thief strikes again

A 50-year-old woman was targeted by a thief earlier this morning in Hal Tarxien, just outside Carter’s Supermarket. It is believed that the robber is the same one who already committed at least two other thefts last week.

Last week, the robber committed two thefts in Isla and Hal Tarxien during which he stole soft drink bottles from inside a car and, in Tarxien, he snatched the handbag of a 79-year-old woman and sped away.

In both snatch and grab cases, the robber remained in his white Peugeot car while he slowed down the car just enough to reach the bag.

He did the same this morning.

According to reports, the man also tried to rob a 54-year-old woman from Santa Lucija last week, but the woman resisted him and he fled. Soon after, he stole some €150 from a vegetable seller in Haz-Zebbug.
