Elderly woman found dead in Rabat home

Police are investigating the discovery of a woman's remains in a Rabat property.

The body of the unnamed 64-year old deceased, who had been missing for over a week, was found in St. John the Baptist street after a neighbour called the police. Civil Protection Department personnel are understood to have broken down the property's front door in order to gain access.

Reports say the initial indications pointed to the woman having died suddenly. An autopsy is to be carried out in order to establish the cause of death.
