Man grievously injured after falling with scooter

Police still to establish what caused the driver to lose control of his scooter

A 52-year-old man from Sliema suffered grievous injuries on Monday after losing control of the scooter he was driving and crashing to the ground.

Police were called to St joseph Main Street, in Hamrun, at around 2.30pm.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of the Kymco Agility scooter lost control and crashed to the ground. Police were yet to ascertain what led the driver to lose control.

An ambulance carried the injured man to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was certified to have suffered grievous injuries.

Police investigations are continuing.
