Mary Fenech Adami remains critical

Former First Lady Mary Fenech Adami remains in critical condition at Mater Dei Hospital after suffering a heart attack while attending Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi's son's wedding at the Girgenti Palace on Saturday evening.

Mary nee Sciberras, 77 was rushed to hospital under police escort and underwent emergency cardiac surgery.

CPR was administered by the Prime Minister's brother, a doctor MP Michael Gonzi, while cardiac consultant Alex Manche who happened to be at the same wedding also assisted.

Mrs Fenech Adami stood by her husband  throughout his entire political career and is known to have been his driving force throughout.

Former President and Prime Minister Eddie Fenech Adami, together with his four children are by her side.
