MDA appoints four new council members after March resignations
Four new members join the developers’ lobby following the resignation of three senior officials earlier this year
The Malta Developers Association (MDA) has co-opted four new council members following the resignation of three senior officials in March.
Rhys Buttigieg, Darren Ciantar, Erskine Vella and Matthew Zammit will join the council, bringing industry experience, fresh perspectives and a strong commitment to the association’s objectives, the MDA said.
“The council unanimously agreed that their inclusion would be beneficial to the association and its members,” MDA President Michael Stivala said. “We look forward to working together as we continue strengthening the voice of the sector and promoting responsible development.”
Their appointment follows the resignation of MDA officials Anton Camilleri, Pio Vassallo and Paul Attard, reportedly in protest over the association’s decision to ask the European Commission to investigate the Affordable Housing Scheme.
The MDA said the new members will support its efforts to address key issues affecting the sector, advocate for practical and sustainable policies, and engage constructively with stakeholders.
It added that the appointments would further strengthen the association’s commitment to ensuring broad representation across the sectors and professions forming part of Malta’s development industry.
