Egyptian charged with Valletta kiosk owner's attempted murder

An Egyptian national has been remanded in custody after being charged with the attempted murder of a Valletta kiosk owner.

38-year-old Ali Ibrahem Eldessouki, an Egyptian national residing in Malta, was remanded in custody this morning after he was charged with the attempted murder of a kiosk owner in Valletta.

Eldessouki, who denied the charges, was arrested soon after he allegedly stabbed Anthony Fenech, 56, with a penknife in an apparent hold-up.

The Egyptian was also charged with also relapsing.
