A Vietnamese worker at the Leisure Clothing Company gave testimony in court yesterday, bringing to light details of her recruitment from Vietnam. The woman claims she was being paid a fraction of what she was promised before she came to Malta.

The whereabouts of 14-year-old Marilyn Cernigliaro remain unknown, 17 days after she was reported missing. Cernigliaro is of average height, with long dark hair. When she was last seen, she was wearing a pink hoodie and black trousers and trainers.

The €250 million transaction between Shanghai Electric Power, the government and Enemalta was completed yesterday, halving Enemalta's debts.

The Malta Independent

The Maltese government will not be pressured into taking sides in the ongoing dispute between the Tobruk- and Tripoli-based government in Libya, said foreign affairs minister George Vella. He called for dialogue between the two governments, whose conflict has lead to the setting up of two embassies in Malta.
