Fire at Suncrest Hotel in Qawra prompts mass evacuation

A mass evacuation followed after a fire broke out at the Suncrest Hotel in Qawra.

The incident took place at around 10am Saturday morning and reportedly caused by a fire in the hotel's kitchen, located at the back side of the building.

Civil Protection Department personnel went on site to put out the fire. The flames were quickly contained.

Many guests were only evacuated as a precaution.

No injuries were reported so far.

Police investigations are ongoing.
