Meridianbet is more than just a gaming company

Maltese-based gaming company Meridianbet, wants people to know it offers more than just online sports betting services, but also financial aid and support, as they hold strong interests in humanitarian initiatives

Betting giant Meridianbet, not only offers an extensive range of online slots, games and an impressive list of exciting deals, but also necessities for the community.

Meridianbet is a big believer in giving back and over the last few years, they have taken part in an abundance of initiatives while donating to many charities and groups to help ease strain or improve the service of programmes and organisations.

As the world battled a pandemic that lasted two years - with society still working through the aftermath, many people faced unemployment, deterioration of health and lack of opportunity. Both resources and income for many became scarce, leaving a large number of people struggling.

Meridianbet has served generously in previous years and still continues to do so, either through donations, promotion of initiatives or by delivering packages to those in ill health.

Meridianbet “strives to ensure equal opportunity for everyone, irrespective of race, nationality, age or gender...” Following this statement, Meridianbet has done a respectable job of proving this belief. The company expressed their charitableness by donating to a range of maternity hospitals around the world.

In addition to this, the Malta-based company also delivered gift packages to the women of St James Hospital, who were receiving treatment. This initiative was in recognition of International Women’s Day. As 65% of Meridianbet’s senior management is upheld by women, the company obtains a strong interest in this ‘global holiday’ as it also falls in line with many of their beliefs and values.

During the coronavirus outbreak, as expected, many countries took a fall and experienced challenge after challenge. India in particular, took a massive hit when there were 29,000,000 registered cases and almost 350,000 deaths from the beginning of the pandemic (March 11, 2020, to August 15, 2020), to the second wave (August 16, 2020, to January 21, 2021). Meridianbet took this opportunity to help as best they could by donating €2,000 to UNICEF to help assist both the country and UNICEF in combatting the virus. UNICEF had sent out oxygen concentrators, emergency equipment and diagnostic tests, to just name a few, with the help of Meridianbet’s generous donation.

A more recent charitable venture for the gaming company involved a basketball match in which players from both sides, wore basketball shirts that read, “We play for Luka”. Luka is a young boy diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour for which he is receiving treatment both in Serbia and abroad.

Meridianbet was part of the initiative as they were announced as ‘BC Crvena zvezdas’ newest shirt sponsor and official betting partner. Through this, Meridianbet was able to help spread the word of Luka and urged people to help out in any way they could.

Not only have they reached out and taken part in foreign/global initiatives, but also through local ones on the Maltese islands. Meridianbet provided financial assistance to one of the island's much-loved teams, Hamrun Spartans FC.

As Meridianbet is a successful platform with many active users in Malta and overseas, both of their actions and beliefs are recognised by many and with this, they aim to encourage others to take part in human rights initiatives when possible. Providing highly interactive and engaging games along with intriguing deals, Meridianbet is an avid supporter of taking genuine steps in reaching out to communities to show their support and commitment to the well-being of everyone.
