Oscar nominated actor Pete Postlethwaite dies

Oscar-nominated British actor Pete Postlethwaite dies at age 64 following a long battle with cancer.

Postlethwaite was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in In the name of the Father in 1994.

He was described by Steven Speilberg as “the best actor in the world” while filming The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

Other films Postlethwaite starred in include The Usual Suspects and Baz Luhrman’s adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, which he continued to work on despite being given treatment for cancer.

He is survived by his wife and two children.
