Boy, four, in serious condition after falling into pool

A four-year-old boy is in serious condition after getting into difficulty when he fell into a swimming pool at a private residence in Marsaxlokk.

Police said they were informed at around 11:45am assistance was needed in Triq il-Port Ruman, Marsaxlokk.

Officers, together with a medical team from Mater Dei Hospital, immediately went to the scene, where they found the boy unconscious after he had been pulled from the water by people who were at the residence.

An ambulance took the child to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was certified to be in serious condition.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia has been informed of the case and appointed an inquiry.

Police investigations are ongoing.
