Three arrested in connection with holdups

Police have arrested three individuals, all hailing from Gzira, in connection with a spate of hold ups that took place recently.

Members of the Rapid Intervention Unit on routine patrol in Msida noted a green Fiat Punto, which matched the description of a vehicle used after the crimes. Two individuals inside the car, upon noticing the police, attempted to flee the scene but were intercepted shortly after.

A balaclava was found in the suspects' possession and a firearm was discovered nearby. A third person was arrestesd after further investigations.

The three arrested were aged 27, 20 and 19.
