Toni Abela elected by his peers to head association of judges and magistrates

Judge Toni Abela has been elected president of the Association for Judges and Magistrates by his peers.

Abela takes over from Judge Joe Zammit McKeon.

The association that represents the interests of the judiciary held its annual general meeting today. Judges and magistrates elected a new committee for the next two years.

Abela is president, Magistrate Joanne Vella Cuschieri vice president, Magistrate Francesco Depasquale retains his role as secretary general, Judge Consuelo Scerri Herrera is treasurer and Judge Lorraine Schembri Orland is international secretary.
