Elderly man run over by car in Sliema

A 67-year-old Irish man has sustained serious injuries, after being run over by a car early Friday morning in Sliema.

The incident occurred at 1am in Windsor Street. 

The police said an investigation found that a 30-year-old man was driving his vehicle when for some reason he lost control and hit a 67-year-old man from Ireland.

An ambulance took the victim to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment, where it was later certified he was suffering from serious injuries.

A Magisterial Inquiry has been appointed into the case, and a Police investigation is ongoing.
