Calls for medical appointments only shown to MAM

Calls for medical appointments are recieved by the Medical Association of malta but not by the Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses.

Although the Public Service Commission (PSC) had announced that it no longer sent calls for application for medical appointments to sectorial unions, the Medical Association of Malta (MAM) still recieves such applications.

However, the Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses does not recieve such notifications.

Talking to Sunday newspaper Illum, MAM's president Martin Balzan and MUMN president Paul Pace confirmed that while Mam "sometimes' recieve such calls from the PSC, MUMN has not recieved any in three years.

Recently, the PSC's annual report revealed that a number of persons appointed as medical consultants did not have the neccessery qualifications.

This caused a public uproar and the Labour Party called for an inquiry into the cases.
