Launching his electoral campaign in an informal fashion, Jonathan Shaw said, "Think Europe - Act Local, is an attitude and approach of how to work within a bigger group, in this regards, Malta within a bigger group made of other EU countries."

He said that the chosen slogan reflected his commitment, adding that "whilst it's good to deliver and think on a European level and mindset we need to primarily also act and deliver on a local level."

Describing the EU as an opportunity for the country in a constantly evolving destination where "Malta can not only follow progress but also lead the creation of such progress."

Identifying Europeans' sense of belonging as Europe's biggest benefit, he said that this is also Europe's greatest challenge since its future lies in instilling this sense of belonging and involvement to citizens.

Speaking about his vision and priorities, the MEP hopeful described youths as "machines of ideas and enthusiasm that need to be channeled with a change in mindset and culture."

In his closing remarks, PN Leader Simon Busuttil described Shaw as having "great charisma, and one that can communicate effectively with the electorate." The PN leader also highlighted that the selection of Jonathan Shaw by the commission reflects the party's mission to also embrace new and valid people in its ranks.

Judging from Mr.Shaw's remarks one thing is for sure........the fellow has no idea of what the European Parliament is and what it does, but of course his english speaking, private schooling background made him a favourite within a classist and elitist party like the Nationalist oarty.
