The Malta International Airport should not have been closed during last month’s blackout, as one of its runways was fully functional, an internal inquiry has revealed. The inquiry’s report said that while the main runway may have been suffering problems, the secondary one had remained fully functional throughout the blackout.

Convicted criminal Alfred Bugeja, il-Porporina, is too weak to speak on the phone after a week on hunger strike, according to his lawyer. Bugeja went on a hunger strike after his prison privileges were removed when he tested positive for drugs. Bugeja has since ended his hunger strike.
