The deputy leader of the Nationalist Party Beppe Fenech Adami returned to Malta this afternoon after undergoing an operation in London last week to remove a 15cm malignant tumour tube from his right shoulder.

Welcomed at the airport by friends, family, colleagues and PN leader Simon Busuttil, Fenech Adami had words of gratitude for all those who are standing by him and the Maltese who have voiced their support.

“I have to thank the Maltese for their support, whom I felt very close to during these difficult weeks,” he said. “During these trying times you learn that people’s support forms an essential part of your cure.”

Fenech Adami said the battle was from over but things were going on as planned. He will be undergoing further treatment and tests in the coming weeks.
