In the Press: PM calls for detention policy to be reviewed

In response to questions during a 'Gvern li Jisma' session, PM Joseph Muscat said that the detention policy for illegal migrants had to be reviewed. The questions were posed in the wake of the publication of a report into the death of Malian migrant Mamadou Kamara at the hands of detention officers.

Minister Edward Scicluna has declined to respond to this newspaper's reports that he, as the sole shareholder of his consulting company, has not declared the company's accounts for several years.

Funding for SMEs is expected to be approved today by the European Commission. The funds will be taken from the Regional Development Fund and will see €60 million invested in local enterprises.
