In the Press: New email evidence of Farrugia's relationship with Enemalta officials

More emails have come to light underlining oil trader George Farrugia's close relationship with another Enemalta official. Emails between Farrugia and Emmanuel Mizzi, head of the shipping unit of the petroleum division, suggest that Farrugia sponsored, in part or in whole, Mizzi's MBA studies.

John Role, whose transfer out of his role in the fostering team sparked outrage from colleagues and parents alike, has been reinstated after direct intervention from the prime minister. Government sources said he was removed after an internal disagreement.

An inquest into a 2013 case, which allegedly saw police officers in the Zabbar station threatened, has not yet been published. This, the newspaper reports, is contrary to what minister Carmelo Abela said in parliament last week.

Large amounts of drug paraphernalia can be found strewn about in Fort Ricasoli, painting a concerning picture of a growing population of drug users who make use of the historical building.

Despite a push for a boycott of this evening's parliamentary debate on Malta's energy agreements, Opposition leader Simon Busuttil insisted that the parliamentary group would attend the debate. The boycott was proposed in reaction to the government's failure to publish all the contracts related to the energy deal with Shanghai Electric.
