Average 14 patients treated in Mater Dei corridors per day in December

8,082 patients were admitted into Mater Dei for treatment in January 2015, around 400 more than were admitted in January 2014

An average of 14 patients a day were treated in Mater Dei’s corridors in December, Health Minister Konrad Mizzi revealed. Responding to a parliamentary question by shadow health minister Claudette Buttigieg, Mizzi added that an average of 20 patients were treated in corridors in November.

In response to a separate PQ by Buttigeg, Mizzi said that 8,082 patients were admitted into Mater Dei for treatment in January, an increase from the 7,675 that were admitted in January 2014.

Responding to a third PQ by Buttigieg, Mizzi said that the CPR trolley was required four times in the medical imaging and paediatric casualty units between December and February.
