In the Press: Police to appeal court decision to reinstate Gozo Channel workers

The police have objected to a court's decision to reinstate two Gozo Channel employees after they were caught stealing from their employer. Raymond Borg, known as "Ix-Xitan", and George Zammit committed themselves to refunding the €350 but were not handed any other punishment.

Toni Abela's future remains uncertain, as the European Parliament still has to vote on his nomination to the EU Court of Auditors. As he has not resigned from the post, Abela still technically holds the Labour party deputy leadership.
