Spain created the first opportunity on goal after 7 minutes when Morata controlled a pass, fended off a challenge and turned beyond Ozyakup. The Spanish striker fired a shot from 25 yards, but Babacan got over to his near post and parried behind for a corner.

Morata was close again on the 10th minute. Nolito ran on the left before delivering a low cross in towards the near post, but Balta slid in, sending a clearance off the outside of the post and behind for a corner. From the resulting corner, Pique sent a header down towards the ground that  bounced dangerously at goal, but winded up crashing onto the roof of the net.

Turkey waited till the 27th minute to produce the first chance on goal when from Calhanoglu’s free kick, the ball went just over the roof of the net for a goal kick.

Spain kept on dominating the game and were close on the 29th minute after a pair of excellent runs without the ball helped to open up a pocket of space for Nolito atop the area.  The Celta player bended an effort towards the far stick, but it drifted onto the wrong side of goal.

The Spanish side  opened the score on the 34th minute when Nolito cut onto his right  and floated a terrific delivery into the area. Morata split the two centre-halves as he jumped to meet it, sending a header crashing into the back of the net.

Three minutes later, del Bosque’s side doubled the score after Topal sent a header straight into the path of Nolito. The striker had a clean look at goal and he placed a first-time finish in at the near post.

The Spaniards started the second half the way they ended the first and scored their third goal on the 47th minute. Iniesta played the ball through for Alba, who unselfishly squared for Morata. With only the keeper to beat, the Juventus striker rolled a simple finish through Babacan's legs for his second of the match.

The holders’ dominion continued and were close again after 60 minutes as Silva managed to control a pass and squeezed into a bit of space at the near post, but his shot was deflected behind for a corner.

Sixty seven minutes and Bruno tested the Turkish goalkeeper when he fired a shot that produced a good save from Babacan.

Turkey had a good chance to reduce the score on the 89th minute when Sahan was slipped through on goal, but his hesitation allowed Azpilicueta to come around with cover, and he did so brilliantly. The Chelsea full-back was able to intervene and force a hopeful effort behind for a corner.

This result puts Spain on top of the group with 6 points, while Turkey remain bottom with no points.
