Man in critical condition after nearly drowning

A 29-year-old Libyan residing in Ħal Far is in a critical condition after drowning at Pretty Bay in Birzebbugia.

The man is understood to have found himself in difficulties after he went for a swim while he was inebriated. The man was given first assistance by other swimmers, including a priest.

The man was then taken to hospital by an ambulance, where he is being kept at the ITU.
