Two arrested in drug bust

A 20-year-old Ghanaian national living in Sicily and 29-year-old from Gambia living in Malta were arrested by the police over drug trafficking.

In a statement, the police said it found about a kilo of cannabis in the Ghanaian’s backpack and further investigations led to the arrest of the second suspect. The latter was arrested earlier this afternoon in Sliema.

A magisterial inquiry is underway.
