Man seriously injured after bus he was fixing collapses onto him

A 25-year-old man was seriously injured after a bus he was working on collapsed onto him.

The police said that accident took place in Wesghet il-Vittmi tal-Gwerra, Luqa, at around 6.50pm on Friday.

The man had been underneath a bus carrying out repairs, when, for some reason, the apparatus holding the bus elevated collapsed, with the heavy vehicle falling onto him.

Civil Protection Department members and a medical team were called on site to assist the victim, who was subsequently taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where his injuries were determined to be grievous in nature.

Police investigations are ongoing.
