A Eurobarometer survey shows that the Maltese are the EU citizens most concerned with the effect of urbanization on the evironment, increased waste generation and air pollution. They also feel, however, that the government is doing enough to protect their surroundings, despite an increase in development.

A University student has written to the Board of the Faculty of Laws, accusing one of her lecturers of sexually abusing her. The student also presented medical certificates showing that she suffered psychologically because of these incidents, which happened within the last few months.

The scheduled visit by the Duchess of Cambridge to Malta has been cast into doubt after her second pregnancy was annouced. Kate Middleton is due to visit next week however no confirmation has been received by the Maltese government whether she will follow those plans. The government extended its congratulations to the royal couple.

Horse shelters near the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta are being occupied by illegally parked vehicles while the horses who are meant to use them stand in the sun a few metres away. Activists are planning a protest next April, before the beginning of the next summer season.
