One of the trio involved in an attempted bank robbery and a shootout with police in 1996 said that the police opened fire first. Joseph Polidano was testifying in the case of George Xuereb. Polidano, who is serving ten years for his involvement in the crime, earned himself a reprimand from the judge for inconsistencies in his testimony.
