Labour MP to address PN rally at Zonqor Point later today

The Nationalist Party has confirmed that Labour MP Marlene Farrugia will be addressing its rally against the government’s plans to construct the Jordanian investment into the private American University of Malta project at an out-of development-zone; Zonqor point at Marsascala.

The MP was warmly welcomed by all those gathered, while the people gathering were handed out petitions against the Zonqor point development.

Farrugia has been prominently outspoken about her disagreement with the plans, claiming that none of the southern MPs were consulted about the plans.

The MP and the Labour Party’s whip Godfrey Farrugia notably attended last week's launch of the Front Ħarsien ODZ; formed as a reaction to the Zonqor point project.

The opposition has been very outspoken in its protests against the selected land, and it has been carrying out consultations with various interested parties; including environmental NGOs and educational institutions.
