Former EU commissioner and UK minister Peter Mandelson, speaking at the annual EY conference yesterday, said that investment opportunities from China should not be ignored but they should also be carefully scrutinised.

A Gozo minister official would sign off on works done on private projects, confirming that the work had indeed been carried out. This emerged in the ongoing case against Anthony Debono, former minister Giovanna Debono's husband, who faces charges of abusing his position and misappropriating public funds, among others.
