In the Press: Illegally issued resident permits being revoked

A number of Libyan citizens received official letters from Identity Malta, giving the recipients a fortnight to leave the islands after it emerged that their residence permits were issued illegally. Some are refusing to accept the terms laid out and are planning to appeal the decision.

The fight for equality should remain consistent, despite achievements in this area, said PM Joseph Muscat yesterday. Muscat spoke at the opening of the Commonwealth People's Forum, which gives civil society a platform to discuss current issues.

Labour MP Luciano Busuttil said that had he heard the threat made by Joe Debono Grech in parliament last week, during a sitting Busuttil was presiding over, he would have taken immediate action.
